Annie Lesser started to become serious about photography in late 2006 when she acquired a Nikon N90. Since then she has been smitten with her lenses. In 2007 she began to do photos for many Chicago stand up comics as well as improv and sketch comedy shows including Reobert Buscemi, Tony Sam, Sarah King, Hannibal Burres, O.I.N.K!, and The Midnight Show (now the Chicago Improv Rebellion). That fall she began doing music photography for such bands as The Days, Lets Get Out of this Terrible Sandwich Shop, and The Bon Mots. In 2008 she was taken on as a photographer for Sarah "Ultragrrrl" Lewitinn's, Universal Music Group produced, New York City based concert blog Almacks Dance Hall. Annie spent the summer of 2008 back in Chicago doing comedy photography as the official photographer for O.I.N.K!, The Whiskey Rebellion, Children of a Lesser God, Robert Buscemi, Flashlite Productions, and Jena Friedman. Back in New York Annie was hired as a photographer for the up and coming art and music venue Le Poisson Rouge where she has photographed Chuck Close, Laurie Anderson, Moby, Andrew WK, and many more. She was hired later that fall by MomsLikeMe to photogrpah the popular Children's Dance series Baby Loves Disco. Outside the aformentioned, Annie has done photos for slam poets, magicians, burlesque artists, theater groups, news publications, parties, events, and film productions. Annie has recently left the Czech Republic where she had been doing photos for the band 100C and working as photo editor and contributor for The Dime Museum. Annie still does photos for Le Poisson Rouge and various comedy groups. Below you can click on the thumbnails to be directed to various samples of Annie's work.
